The existing bottle lacked distinctive shelf presence and conveyed limited volume and premium value, while the dandruff-control variant struggled to establish a clear point of difference. The challenge was to create a stronger and more contemporary form without compromising the fundamentals of packaging—stability, handling, usability, manufacturability, material efficiency, and scalability across multiple SKUs.
Lokusdesign began with extensive market, category, competitive, and consumer research to understand how shoppers perceived Vatika, what influenced purchase decisions, and where the existing pack was falling short. These insights established the basis for differentiated product forms for everyday haircare and dandruff control, while retaining the brand’s core equity in natural care.
The design process brought together industrial design, structural engineering, material expertise, and manufacturing understanding to create packaging where form and function were inseparable. Bottle proportions, curvature, asymmetry, cap integration, stability, finish, label application, and SKU scalability were considered as part of one system. The resulting designs were developed for practical production and use, across pack sizes from 25 ml to 500 ml, while creating a stronger and more contemporary brand presence.
The result was packaging where functionality became the foundation of the design and form became its expression – improving usability and structural performance while strengthening shelf visibility, brand differentiation, and perceptions of quality and efficacy.
