Industrial customers were no longer evaluating technology on specifications alone. They needed to understand what technology could do for their business before committing to complex, high-value B2B solutions.
The visible brief was to create a Software Experience Centre.
The hidden business brief was:
How could MEI make complex digital manufacturing solutions easier to understand, evaluate and buy across long decision cycles involving multiple stakeholders? Conventional sales tools could explain products but struggled to demonstrate the value of an interconnected digital manufacturing ecosystem.
MEI needed a platform that could move the conversation from product features to business outcomes, reduce explanation and sales effort, demonstrate integrated solutions, and help customers visualise their own transformation journey.
Lokusdesign reframed the centre from a technology showcase into a customer decision platform. We mapped the B2B journey from understanding → evaluation → confidence → solution selection, and designed the experience around the questions that drive the decision:
What is the problem? → How does it work? → What changes for my business? → Can I experience it? → How can it apply to me?
We created a connected journey:
Personalised Onboarding → Industry Context → Solution Zones → Interactive Demonstration → Immersive Simulation → Collaboration → Business Conversation
Digital twins, AI-powered analytics, IoT, 5G, VR and interactive visualisation were integrated not as technology attractions, but as tools to make complex capabilities tangible, contextual and commercially relevant.
The experience enabled different stakeholders to enter through their own business priorities while demonstrating how MEI’s technologies work together as an ecosystem.
This directly influenced the economics of engagement:
CAC ↓
Clearer demonstrations and contextual storytelling reduce the explanation required from sales teams, shorten the path from awareness to meaningful solution conversations, and improve the efficiency of customer acquisition.
CapEx ↓
A reusable experience platform replaces repeated, one-off demonstrations and enables the same infrastructure, content, and technology to serve multiple customer scenarios.
OpEx ↓
Interactive and self-guided experiences reduce dependence on repeated manual explanation, while modular content and systems make updates and deployment more efficient.
Scale ↑
The experience architecture can accommodate new technologies, industries, applications and customer journeys without rebuilding the entire centre.
Lokusdesign transformed the MEI Software Experience Centre from a technology demonstration space into a strategic business-engagement platform.
Complex Technology → Simplified Experience → Understanding → Confidence → Solution-led Conversation
The centre makes MEI’s digital manufacturing ecosystem easier to experience, understand and evaluate, supporting the shift from product selling to solution selling while making the experience investment work harder across CAC, CapEx, OpEx and Scale.
Lokusdesign didn’t design a technology showroom. We designed a platform that helps customers experience the business case for technology.
